Brad King is a member of the Government Group and leads the public education law team. He focuses his law practice on representing public school boards throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He provides counsel and representation in the substantive areas of special education, school employment, student discipline, governance, policy matters and contract negotiations.

Brad has extensive experience in providing counsel and representation in matters related to the U.S. and Virginia Constitutions, state and federal laws governing the operation of public schools, and numerous other state and federal acts, including the Virginia Public Procurement Act, Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Conflict of Interest Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. Additionally, he regularly revises and updates school board policies and administrative manuals to reflect the most current law.  His previous work included serving as Senior Assistant County Attorney in Hanover County and as the Governmental Relations Officer and Chief Lobbyist for the Virginia School Boards Association.

Brad earned his law degree at the University of Virginia, where he served as a member of the Journal of Law and Politics. He is a cum laude graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Communications. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, past-president of the Council of School Attorneys (COSA), and a Hearing Officer for the Virginia High School League.

Brad has been listed in the 2010 and 2011 editions of Best Lawyers in America and on Virginia Business magazine's Legal Elite list for his work in education law.
