David Hearn is a member of the Risk Management practice group. His practice focuses on defending private companies, and Virginia insurers and their clients in general liability, toxic tort, products liability and insurance coverage cases in state and federal courts. David has successfully managed many complex litigation matters with significant potential exposure and has served as lead counsel in numerous jury trials. His more recent experiences include:
- Employment: Obtaining summary judgment dismissal for an employee alleged to violate the non-solicitation and non-competition provisions of his employment contract.
- Product Liability: Obtaining a dismissal with prejudice at trial in a defective product action.
- Premises Liability: Achieving a verdict in favor of the defense in a plaintiff's $3.5 million premises liability claim.
- General liability: Prevailing for the defense at trial in three rear-end collision cases.
- Commercial liability: Obtaining a verdict for the defense in a corporate defamation claim.
David writes and speaks on legal and liability issues. He recently served as chairman of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys' Automobile & Premises Liability section.
