George Peterson is a shareholder and a member of the Business & Professional Litigation practice group.  His practice focuses on trusts and estates litigation, business litigation, and professional malpractice defense.  He is based in our D. C. Regional office located in McLean.

Mr. Peterson has represented a wide array of individuals and entities throughout Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. George has been the lead litigation attorney on trusts and estates matters and commercial litigation matters including partnership disputes, promissory notes, various business torts, fraud based causes of action and Uniform Commercial Code litigation.   Recently, George was involved in a lengthy church property dispute involving significant First Amendment and other constitutional issues.

In December 2007, Washingtonian magazine conducted a survey of the top attorneys in the Washington, D.C. area that identified George as one of the "defense lawyers Washington's plaintiff lawyers privately say they least like to see" opposing them on a case.  George was listed in Virginia Business Magazine 2008 Legal Elite in the category of Young Lawyer Under 40.
