Michael Kuhn is a member of the Business, Finance, and Real Estate practice group and focuses on international business operations and transactions, immigration law, intellectual property and labor and employment matters.

Michael has fifteen years of experience as a business lawyer in the United States and Germany.  He represents U. S. companies with operations and projects domestically and internationally, as well as European companies with operations and interests in the U.S.

• Represents U.S. companies engaged in projects in the United States and abroad
• Represents European and other international companies with business and immigration interests in the United States and Virginia
• Counsels corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies on legal matters arising under both U.S. and international law
• Assists German speaking clients in comprehending and complying with applicable legal requirements of the U.S. Has in-depth knowledge of specific legal and business issues that arise when doing business abroad, and has successfully found cost-effective business solutions to those issues based on practical experience
• Assisted management in establishing investment and inbound immigration projects in the U.S. and other countries
• Assisted U.S. employers with decisions related to hiring, firing, promotion, compensation, discipline, discharge, layoff, handbooks, employment contracts, employee leasing agreements, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, as well as other terms and conditions of employment
• Counsels U.S. clients seeking to establish operations abroad with respect to applicable corporate and employment laws, as well as other pertinent legal requirements
• Represents a variety of emerging technology companies including biotech, high-tech manufacturing, software and microelectronics

Michael is chair of the German American Business Association of Richmond and serves on the Board of Governors of the International Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar.
