Nicole Cheuk is a member of the Government Group and the School and Education law team. She concentrates her practice on representing public school boards, school management and faculty throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  She is based in the Richmond office.

Nicole has handled responses to Equal Employment and Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges, United States Department of Education Office for Civil Rights (OCR) complaints and Virginia Department of Education special education complaints and counseled clients on a variety of procurement issues including complex construction contracts. Further, she routinely counsels school boards and other public bodies on day-to-day operations including personnel and procurement issues and handles school board policy revisions required by changes to federal and state law.

Prior to joining the firm, Nicole served as an attorney at the Virginia Division of Legislative Services in Richmond, where she was lead counsel to the House Committee on Education. She was responsible for advising Delegates on all aspects of legislation before the committee and drafted the majority of legislation on education before the House Committee. She crafted reports for the legislative joint subcommittees on subjects such as STEM education, non-profit private institutions of higher education, childhood obesity and special education.  She advised the Governor's staff on necessary amendments to legislation for the annual Veto Session.

Nicole is a graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law and the College of William and Mary.
