Tom served on the firm's Board of Directors, its governing body from 1999-2007, and as President of the firm from 2001-2007. His many years of experience in managing a law firm give him meaningful insight into the challenges faced by owners and executives of businesses and enable him to give sound, practical advice on legal issues. He represents businesses in mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings and counsels business owners on a variety of other corporate and business matters. He counsels law firm owners and management on the special issues that these privately-owned service businesses encounter. Tom also represents financial institutions, developers, investors and local governments in a wide variety of real estate and other commercial transactions, as well as landlords and tenants in commercial lease matters. In almost thirty years of legal practice, Tom has represented the interest of lenders, insurance companies, local governments, creditors' committees, trustees, trade and other creditors, landlords and debtors in a number of bankruptcy proceedings and other creditor's rights matters. He has lectured to continuing legal education and trade groups on commercial leases, the treatment of security interests and commercial leases in bankruptcy, asset protection, recent developments in bankruptcy and creditors' rights law and strategic planning for law firms.
