Tim Nordgren's practice is devoted to estate planning and estate and trust administration. He is a member of the firm's Business Group and practices in the firm's Raleigh office.

Tim assists clients with the creation of estate plans tailored to their specific circumstances and objectives, which may include strategies to reduce or eliminate a client's exposure to federal gift or estate tax, the creation of a Special Needs Trust to protect a disabled family member, or simply to develop a plan for distributing assets to beneficiaries in an orderly and seamless manner.

In addition to assisting clients with their estate planning needs, Tim handles complex estate and trust administration matters by assisting Personal Representatives and Trustees with the performance of their fiduciary duties.

Tim has also assisted several charitable organizations with obtaining tax exempt status.

As an ancillary to his estate planning practice, Tim represents numerous business owners, and assists them with the formation of business entities, the maintenance of said entities, and business succession planning.

Prior to his practice in North Carolina, Tim practiced for several years in Tennessee where a significant amount of his time was devoted to probate matters and estate planning.

Tim regularly presents and publishes articles on estate planning matters for the North Caroline Bar Association. His peers have rated him AV, the highest rating one can receive from Martindale-Hubbell. Tim is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, which requires a lawyer to be elected based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field.
