S. Vernon Priddy, III - Principal
 

Vernon Priddy is a member of the Workers' Compensation practice group and has practiced law since 1982.  Over the last decade, he has concentrated his practice in the appeal of various types of civil cases in the appellate courts located in Virginia.  He handles appeals in cases tried by other lawyers at Sands Anderson as well as in cases for clients who chose other firms at the trial level.

Vernon has handled over 100 cases in the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  The following are among the 40 cases he handled resulting in decisions handed down since 1999:

  • Parker-Smith v. Sto Corp., 262 Va. 432, 551 S.E.2d 615 (2001)

  • unrise Terrace, Inc. v. Holles, 257 Va. 131, 509 S.E.2d 494 (1999)

In addition to appellate work, Vernon remains active at the trial level in handling cases directly and in consulting on other cases with looming appellate issues for the firm's clients and clients represented by counsel from other firms.
