Butler Retires from the Navy Reserves

Al Orgain and the Sands Anderson PC Aviation Team congratulate John Butler on his retirement from the U.S. Navy Reserve, after 20 years of active duty and reserve service.  John, a member of the Risk Management Practice Group and its Aviation Team since 2000, served as a helicopter pilot while on active duty, including a tour in Desert Storm.  He also served as a fixed wing flight instructor before leaving active duty to attend law school.  After becoming an attorney, John continued to fly helicopters in the reserve, accumulating a total of 2800 hours flight time.  He manned the Navy Operations Center immediately before September 11, 2001, narrowly missing its destruction in the Pentagon attack and again, served there immediately afterward. John officially retires as a Commander, U.S. Navy Reserve, on June 1, 2008.
