RICHMOND, VIRGINIA--Kelly B. LaPar, a member of the litigation team at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C. with a focus on equine law, will present an informative talk on Virginia's Equine Activity Liability Act on November 5, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the facilities of Campbell Springs Farm in Chesterfield, practice chair Jeffrey H. Geiger announced today.
LaPar will cover protections and risks as defined by the Act which, in essence, limits, but does not eliminate, liability for those that the statute defines as equine activity sponsors, professionals, and others for injuries caused that result from intrinsic dangers of equine activities. This seminar will analyze the Act, summarize its major components, and examine recent court decisions from across the country, LaPar said.
