RADFORD, VIRGINIA (September 10, 2004)... Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Radford Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a "Nuts and Bolts of Employment Law" seminar in Blacksburg on September 15, 2004.
The seminar will be staged at the Holiday Inn University on Prices Fork Road, will run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and will include lunch. Four attorneys from the Risk Management, Employment and Workers Compensation practices will be leading the sessions. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., Chamber members will pay $40, non-members pay $60. Mark M. Caldwell, III, one of the Radford office's principals, will cover "Workers' Compensation and Other Leave Issues." Caldwell is a member of the Employment practice group.
Henry C. Spalding will open the session with "Anatomy of a Discrimination Lawsuit." Spalding practices in the firm's Risk Management and Employment Law practice groups, and has years of experience in defending employers in all types of litigation matters and representing insurance companies and their policyholders.
Other presentations during the seminar will detail "Recent Changes in the Wage and Hour Laws" and "Top 10 Frequently Asked HR Questions." Other session leaders include C. Michael DeCamps, chair of the Employment group, and N. Reid Broughton of the Radford office. Broughton is Immediate Past Chair of the Montgomery County Chamber.
