RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (December 6, 2005)...Eleven attorneys from the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller have been selected as part of Virginia Business's 2005 "Legal Elite", firm President Tom Ebel reported today.
Ebel pointed out four of the eleven lawyers were selected for the fifth year running. Virginia Business magazine's "Legal Elite" features the top attorneys who practice in major specialties of law throughout the state of Virginia. More than 6,000 lawyers were asked to nominate attorneys in and outside their own firms in ten categories of law. Over 600 lawyers made the list this year, according to Virginia Business.
Selected every year since 2001 were Sands Anderson Marks & Miller attorneys C. Michael DeCamps, Elaine R. Jordan, Ben R. Lacy, IV, and Bruce L. Mertens. The 2005 Legal Elite also includes Jeffrey H. Geiger, David W. Hearn, Phyllis C. Katz, Albert M. Orgain, IV, M. Pierce Rucker, J. Jonathan Schraub, and William N. Watkins.
C. Michael DeCamps, Chair of the Employment practice group, was acknowledged for his practice in Labor/Employment.
Elaine R. Jordan, Chair of the Construction practice group, was acknowledged for her practice in Business Law.
Ben R. Lacy, IV, Chair of the Government Relations practice group, was acknowledged for his practice in Business Law.
Bruce L. Mertens, Chair of the Estate and Tax Planning practice group, was acknowledged for his practice in Tax/Estates/Trusts.
Jeffrey H. Geiger is a member of the Business & Professional Litigation practice group and was acknowledged in the Young Lawyer category.
David W. Hearn is a member of the Risk Management practice group and was acknowledged in the Young Lawyer category.
Phyllis C. Katz is a member of the Local Government practice group and was acknowledged for her Legal Services/Public Service.
