National immigration policy remains unresolved. To date, much of the immigration law compliance responsibilities have been passed on to employers. Employers who do not comply can be fined up to $5000 for each violation.
There are simple steps that an employer can take to be in compliance. This program will provide an overview of the important visa categories and will also outline specific responsibilities of an employer. The topics to be covered include:

She has been an employment attorney for over 25 years, including serving three Governors as head of Employee Relations. She teaches Human Resource Management at VA Tech.
Mr. Kuhn represents U. S. companies with operations and projects domestically and internationally, as well as European and Asian companies with operations and interests in the U.S. His law practice focuses on international trade, business issues and immigration. He has practiced law in Germany. He is chair of the German American Business Association of Richmond and serves on the Board of Governors of the International Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar.
