Thomas Bowden Joins Business Team, Brings Mergers and Acquisitons Experience

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA --- Thomas L. Bowden, Sr. has joined the Business, Finance and Real Estate practice group of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, PC. as counsel, firm President M. Pierce Rucker announced today.

"Our firm is delighted to welcome an attorney of Tom's experience and depth to our team of full time corporate lawyers and we especially appreciate, and expect our clients to benefit from, his significant work in mergers and acquisitions over the years," said Rucker.

Bowden will be on the team of attorneys who counsel corporate clients, their executives, owners and investors about formation, financing, contracts, agreements, leases, trade arrangements, and growth through mergers and acquisitions. His background includes representing clients in those areas, and as general counsel and a member of the management team for a technology and  broadband access  provider.

"Tom's familiarity with corporate operations, mergers and acquisitions and the financing necessary to accomplish them is crucial in today's tougher business climate," explained Brian R. Pitney, chair of the firm's Business Finance and Real Estate practice group. Bowden has extensive experience spanning corporate law, venture capital, public finance,  private equity, real estate development and commercial litigation. His practice has included work in real estate tax credits and tenant in common syndications, as well as public and private corporate securities. He earned his AB in Economics with honors at Princeton University and then earned his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his M.B.A. at the Wharton School of Business, completing both degrees simultaneously.

Bowden has been listed among the Virginia Business Magazine's Legal Elite (2004) and in the  Virginia Super Lawyers directory (2006, 2008) and was co-founder of the Greater Richmond Technology Council. He is an avid outdoorsman and wildlife photographer.
