Terrence Graves of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller Named Among 2008 Leaders in the Law
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA -- Terrence L. Graves, chair of the Risk Management practice group at Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, was named a "2008 Leader in the Law" at a ceremony hosted by Virginia Lawyers Weekly at the Bolling-Haxall House in Richmond on Thursday, October 23, firm president Pierce Rucker recently announced."Terrence's recognition is well-deserved and highlights a career that combines remarkable legal skills with a keen talent for leadership from which our firm and the legal profession in Virginia greatly benefit," Rucker said.
Graves was installed as President of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA) during October 2007, and will inaugurate his successor this month. He was the fourth Sands Anderson attorney to hold that position, and the first African-American to ever serve VADA as president. In January 2008, he succeeded Albert M. Orgain, IV, as chair of the firm's Risk Management practice group.
"This past year has been a rewarding one," Graves remarked. "I am gratified to have the confidence of my fellow lawyers at my firm and throughout the defense community, and to have the opportunity to serve my profession at such an important time in our organization's history." This month, VADA marks its 40th anniversary, he noted.
