Russell LawsonMCLEAN, VIRGINIA --- Heather Austin Jones has joined the D. C. Regional Office of the Sands Anderson Marks & Miller law firm, managing shareholder J. Jonathan Schraub announced today.
"Heather adds superb litigation and professional liability defense skills to our group of lawyers located in McLean and we're pleased to have a person of her depth and experience on our team," Schraub remarked.
Jones will be a member of both the Business & Professional Litigation and Healthcare practice groups, according to the firm. Her practice consists of a diverse mix of clients with special needs in commercial and tort litigation, professional liability including health care and lawyer malpractice defense, product liability and insurance coverage issues.
Prior to and during law school, Jones worked for the Federal Judicial Center, the research and education agency of the federal judicial system. During her 10 years there, she developed and produced video and live training broadcasts for the Federal Judicial Television Network, which supported continuing education and training of federal judges, court employees, pretrial services and probation officers, and others legal service professionals.
Jones worked in television news while pursuing her undergraduate degree. She holds a B. A. in Communications from James Madison University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her J. D. from the George Mason University School of Law.
