Ben Emerson Elected for a Third Term, Tom Ebel Reelected as President

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (January 25, 2006)...Benjamin W. Emerson, an attorney at the law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, was re-elected to a third term on the law firm's Board of Directors in January by vote of the firm's owners.

C. Thomas Ebel was chosen by the Board to continue serving as President. Under Mr. Ebel's administration, the firm has broadly expanded regional coverage by opening offices in Fredericksburg, McLean and the Research Triangle of North Carolina. The number of attorneys at the firm has grown by nearly 20% under the leadership of Ebel and his fellow Board members.

"The Board is looking forward to another year of profitable growth and expansion consistent with our performance over the last several years," said Ebel.

Ben Emerson practices in the areas of local government, tax-exempt finance, land use and commercial real estate. He serves as County Attorney for Caroline County, Virginia. As a member the Board, he is actively engaged in the governing and management of the firm. Emerson received his bachelor's and law degrees from University of Richmond, and master of fine arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Tom Ebel is a member of the Business, Finance & Real Estate practice group and has over 25 years of experience in the areas of real estate, commercial, business, corporate, bankruptcy and creditors' rights law. In 2001 and 2003, Ebel was listed in Virginia Business' "Legal Elite." Ebel received his bachelor's degree from Hampden-Sydney College and his law degree from the University of Richmond.
