Cremins, Gentile and Markley Merges With Sands Anderson's D. C. Regional Office

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (July 31, 2006)...The law firm Cremins, Gentile & Markley of Fairfax, Virginia, will merge with the D. C. Regional Office of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, PC, located in McLean, Virginia, Sands Anderson President C. Thomas Ebel announced today.

The three principals, William D. Cremins, Colleen M. Gentile, and Jennifer Cremins Markley, will join the seven attorneys at the McLean location on August 1 to serve business and professional clients, including corporations, business owners and executives, lawyers and health care professionals, insurers and financial services companies. "We are proud to join with attorneys of such high caliber and professionalism in offering stronger representation to all of our clients," said J. Jonathan Schraub, managing shareholder of the D. C. Regional office for Sands Anderson.

Mr. Cremins practices primarily in the areas of health care law and professional liability defense. He also advises clients on a variety of regulatory, credentialing, and peer review matters. Mr. Cremins received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Bonaventure University and his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University School of Law. Over his career, he has served in many capacities for the legal profession, including President of the Fairfax Bar Association and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Virginia State Bar Council. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar; Fairfax and American Bar Associations; Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA); Virginia Trial Lawyers Association; Defense Research Institute (DRI); and is a Fellow of the Virginia Law Foundation, the Virginia Bar Foundation and the American College of Trial Lawyers

Ms. Gentile represents health care providers in connection with professional liability claims and risk management matters. Ms. Gentile received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Ithaca College and her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University School of Law. An adoptive mother of two, she also has an adoption law practice, representing prospective adoptive parents, as well as birth parents, in connection with private placement, agency, and international adoptions. Ms. Gentile teaches adult education courses on the topic of private adoption and is a member of Families for Private Adoption, a non-profit organization that provides adoption support and education. She is also a member of the VADA.

Ms. Markley focuses on medical malpractice defense litigation and employment law. She also counsels clients on general health care matters, including risk management and credentialing, and peer review. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware and her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law. Ms. Markley is a member of the VADA and she has served as Chair of the Young Lawyer's Division. She is currently serving on the VADA Long Range Planning Committee. She is also a member of the Fairfax Bar Association and DRI.

The merged operation will be located in both Fairfax and McLean until new space can be built for the combined firm. "Because of our rapid growth, we were already looking for larger quarters, and this further expansion will be able to be accommodated in that search," reported Schraub.
