RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (June 15, 2007)… Attorney Stephen V. Durbin of Chesapeake has joined the Local Government law practice at the Blacksburg location of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, James E. Cornwell managing shareholder of the New River Valley office, announced this week.
“We’re fortunate to be able to add Stephen’s expertise and strong litigation skills on our team of business and local government attorneys,” said Cornwell. The New River Valley office has ten attorneys in diverse areas of practice including business, employment, finance, healthcare, litigation, real estate, risk management, workers’ compensation and local government.
Durbin graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a minor in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from William and Mary School of Law in 2005. Durbin previously worked as an Associate Attorney for the law firm of Roy, Larsen, Romm & Lascara, P.C. in Chesapeake, Virginia and represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial litigation, contracts, will contests, personal injury and medical malpractice.
While attending law school, Durbin worked as a Research Assistant for the National Center for State Courts. He also interned for the United States Army, Judge Advocate General in San Antonio, Texas.
