Fastest Growing Counties in the US Are Among Local Government Group Clients for Law Firm

(RICHMOND, VA., March 27, 2006) Sands Anderson Marks & Miller's Local Government practice has six county clients listed in figures on the country's fastest growing counties released by the U. S. Census Bureau this month, Practice Chair Daniel M. Siegel reports.

Among the nationwide county listing reported by the Associated Press on March 16 are King George (9), Caroline (10), Culpeper (18), Spotsylvania (73), Louisa (74), New Kent (92). Sands Anderson attorneys serve as County Attorney or Special Counsel in each of these jurisdictions, says Siegel.

"In fact, of the ten Virginia counties listed in the top 100 for growth over the period from July 2004 through July 2005, our firm's attorneys represent more than half," Siegel points out. Virginia has the fourth highest number of counties (10 of the top 100) in the Census Bureau report. Only Florida, Georgia and Texas have more of the fastest growing counties.

"The opportunities and challenges that accompany high population growth for counties are numerous, from land use issues to economic development and infrastructure funding," Siegel explains. "Because our firm has one of the state's largest groups of attorneys concentrating specifically on local government issues, it's no surprise that we serve so many of these growth areas," he asserts.
