Sands Anderson Marks & Miller attorneys on the Insurance team have extensive experience in matters involving all facets of the life health, property and casualty insurance industry including litigation, legislative and regulatory matters.  We resolve problems that arise in these evolving areas of the law and keep our clients apprised of the latest developments in these areas.  Our attorneys also serve as the statutory registered agent for a number of insurance carriers.  We are the only Virginia representative of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel.

Litigation

Regulatory

Our experience in dealing with the General Assembly of Virginia and numerous state regulatory agencies and commissions, such as the State Corporation Commission and its Bureau of Insurance, allows our firm to offer its insurance clients a full range of legal and consulting services in these areas.  We regularly provide legal services to our clients with respect to:

We participate with our insurance clients, which include individual insurance companies as well as various insurance trade associations such as the American Council of Life Insurance, in developing legislative strategies as well as engaging in active lobbying on their behalf before the General Assembly of Virginia.  Our firm has an on-line legislative system for current status reports of pending legislation.
