• Achieved dismissal of or urged the appellate court to uphold the dismissal of over 45 Section 1983 claims of deliberately indifferent medical care, First Amendment violations, and various due process claims at the trial and appellate level, in various jurisdictions throughout the country. Representative cases include:
  
  Payne v. Taslimi, 998 F.3d 648 (4th Cir. 2021)
  Successfully brief and argued a case of first impression in the Fourth Circuit that the district court properly dismissed an inmate’s claims that his rights to medical privacy were violated under HIPAA and the Due Process Clause.
  
  Costine v. Correct Care Sols., LLC, No. 2:19cv53, 2020 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 81817, 2020 WL 2312440, (E.D. Va. May 8, 2020)
  Achieved summary judgment on all claims made by 47-year-old inmate who suffered an above the knee amputation while under the jail’s care for chronic diabetes.
  
  Rogers v. Schilling, No. 5:17-CV-70073, 2019 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 8078, 2019 WL 237404, (W.D. Va. Jan. 16, 2019)
  Achieved summary judgment on all claims made by inmate for supposed delays in his access to outside medical care for a skin infection that eventually required surgery.
  
  Doe v. Sutton-Wallace, No. 3:18-cv-00041, 2019 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 176298, 2019 WL 5088769 (W.D. Va. Oct. 10, 2019)
  Achieved dismissal of all claims made by a psychiatric patient against a state hospital for allegedly denying of her constitutional rights to refuse emergency medical care.
  
  Estate of Lobato v. Correct Care Solutions, LLC, No. 15-cv-02718-PAB-STV, 2017 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 49247, 2017 WL 1197295, (D. Colo. Mar. 31, 2017)
  Working with local counsel in Colorado and after multiple rounds of briefing, achieved dismissal of a Monell claim by the estate of a young mother who died from opioid withdrawal during her pre-trial detention. Notably, the plaintiff’s firm in this case had obtained an $11 million jury award on a similar Monell claim against the same defendant in the same court, just a year earlier.
  
  Murray v. Correct Care Solutions, LLC, 2017 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 7244 (E.D. Va. Jan. 18, 2017)
  Achieved dismissal of the plaintiff’s deliberate indifference, gross negligence, and willful/wanton negligence claims against a jail doctor who allegedly failed to timely respond to a 43-year-old inmate’s chest pain and hypoxia the day before he died of heart failure.
