David’s practice focuses on commercial litigation. He frequently advises clients on contract disputes, tax assessment matters, and professional licensing complaints.
In his day-to-day practice, David enjoys working alongside established businesses, drafting contracts to help them achieve their business objectives and ensuring compliance with existing provisions. He also offers strategic guidance when others may breach their contractual responsibilities and, when necessary, zealously represents his clients in court.
David also works with local governments across the Commonwealth in defending erroneous tax assessment claims. With an understanding of the process through which governments assess and levy taxes, as well as Virginia’s tax assessment statues, David develops and deploys defensive strategies to help local governments preserve necessary tax dollars. His meticulous work allows localities to confidently focus on providing essential services to their citizens. His experience includes defending assessments performed by in-house assessors, contract assessors, and boards of assessors.
A portion of David’s practice is also dedicated to defending design professionals, including architects and engineers, in litigation. He has represented clients before the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation and knows how to navigate its processes. David uses this experience to assist professionals in responding to complaints and defending their licenses.
David uses his litigation experience and business acumen to assist design professionals resolve matters in quick and efficient ways, either through litigation or other means of dispute resolution. David represents clients in all courts throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and also in arbitration proceedings.
