Steve brings a thorough knowledge and keen insight to a wide variety of local government issues including municipal litigation, taxation assessment defense and collection, eminent domain, construction law and land use issues. He is familiar with all facets of economic development matters and has assisted local governments throughout Southwest Virginia in forging partnerships with business to benefit the locality and its citizens. Steve serves as General Counsel to multiple local governments, including counties, cities, towns and special purpose authorities, advising them on a broad range of legal matters. Steve also represents multiple Departments of Social Services throughout Southwest Virginia, litigating a wide variety of cases involving child protective services and adult protective services in Virginia’s District, Circuit and Appellate Courts.
A seasoned litigator, Steve enjoys advocating both in court and at public meetings on behalf of his local government clients.
