Virginia Lawyers Weekly Recognizes Adam Winston as a 2025 Up and Coming Lawyer

Press Releases

RICHMOND, Va. (October 30, 2025) — Sands Anderson attorney Adam B. Winston was named an "Up and Coming Lawyer" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The class will be honored this evening at The John Marshall in Richmond.

The “Up & Coming Lawyers” program recognizes attorneys who, in their first 10 years of practice, have been making a name for themselves and displaying the determination and accomplishments that establish them as leaders of the future.

As an associate in Sands Anderson’s Government and Litigation practice groups, Adam plays a key role in guiding governmental entities through the complex legal challenges that arise in public service. He delivers practical, well-rounded counsel to public officials, administrators, and staff, and helps them navigate a broad spectrum of litigation and governance matters.

In support of the firm’s Litigation Group, Adam collaborates on drafting briefs and presenting arguments before both the Virginia Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Virginia, and is focused on some of the most pressing and nuanced legal issues in the Commonwealth. His work in land use and zoning, particularly matters tied to the rapid expansion of data centers, highlights his ability to tackle issues at the intersection of local policy, regulatory compliance, infrastructure, and energy. Because of his work, Adam was asked to speak at the Virginia Clean Energy Summit on a panel that explored how Virginia localities are pursuing new energy models beyond traditional utilities.
