Sands Anderson Grows Education Law Group
RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (August 17, 2020) --- Attorneys Jason H. Ballum, Patrick T. Andriano, Katherine K. Ballou, Anne E. Mickey and LaRana J. Owens have joined Sands Anderson PC's Richmond office bringing a significant public school board and educational law practice, announced firm president Margaret F. Hardy. All five attorneys most recently practiced at Reed Smith.

Ballum has significant experience representing school boards in disputes regarding special education, and state and federal regulatory investigations. Ballum received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Educational Studies from Colgate University and his law degree from the University of Virginia. Andriano's practice focuses on education law, including the representation of school boards in special education matters including counseling school boards in claims arising out of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
