Since 2016, our firm has focused on improving literacy gaps in the communities where we live and work. Focusing on literacy enables us to apply our skills and passion to help those that lack literacy opportunity, abilities or access.

Please join us in making an impact on the lives of others in our communities.

Please select a non-profit organization of your choice below for Sands Anderson to donate a book to on your behalf. This year’s organizations are:

Book Harvest. Book Harvest is dedicated to ensuring children are lifelong readers and learners, and it provides books and literacy support to children and families across the Durham and Raleigh area.

Sprout School. The Sprout School, a Richmond-area preschool, provides high-quality education to children age 2 months to 5 years. The school embraces a teaching philosophy that encourages discovery, creativity, and community.

Children’s Museum of Richmond Book Bank. The Children’s Book Bank believes that children in under-resourced communities deserve easy access to high-quality books. They provide new or like-new books to schools and organizations to promote literacy in low-income neighborhoods.

Literacy for Life. Located in Williamsburg, VA, Literacy for Life uses individualized and small group tutoring to help adults with reading, writing, and math. It also assists individuals with GED preparation and in passing U.S. citizenship exams.

Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley. LVNRV provides free literacy education to adults in the New River Valley, including tutoring in reading, writing, and math. It also helps members with GED preparation, English for Speakers of Other Languages, computer skills, and more.

Turn the Page. Turn the Page, located in the City of Roanoke, aims to turn every child into a reader. They donate a book to every newborn born at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, as well as donate books to elementary school children in Roanoke.
